My name is Taghi Ramezan Zadeh. I am an assistant professor in strategy at the Amsterdam Business School, University of Amsterdam. As a researcher, I am primarily interested in exploring how organizations adapt to technological changes from socio-cognitive perspectives. My favorite concepts include organizational identity, managerial attention, and institutional logics, among others. Recently, I have developed an interest in studying the social responsibility of businesses in the context of technological transitions. The phenomena I am investigating these days include how incumbents build and lead ecosystems as part of their digital transformation and how they manage to maintain a dual focus on both market and social issues during this transformation. I use both qualitative and quantitative methods to research these topics. These research topics equip me with the knowledge I need to teach courses on digital transformation and organizational design.

I am a co-founder of the Amsterdam Digital Transformation Lab, where we aim to create impact through a network of academic, educational, and industrial partners as a knowledge based ecosystem. 

Before joining the Universiy of Amsterdam, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Sceince-Based Business Center, Faculty of Science, Leiden University. There I designed and taught courses on innovation management, entrepreneurship growth and corporate entrepreneurship.

I earned my PhD after defending my dissertation, entitled ‘How Firms Cope with Digital Revolution’ at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. For this research, I worked with four major Dutch companies and a Swede telecom giant from 2014 to 2018. 

I have moved back and forth between academia and industry a few times and enjoyed the benefits of both. On this website, I share my experiences, understandings, thoughts, and questions about strategy, organization, and innovation in the digital era.

From time to time, I experiment with writing poetry in Persian. The results of these attempts are shared on this page of my website: گاه‌گویه.
